Fastspot's Work Receives Webby Awards Recognition

Fastspot is proud to announce that the Baker Artist Awards Website has been selected by the 2009 Webby Awards as an official honoree. Fastspot designed and produced the site to support the jury process for the Mary Sawyer Baker grants, being awarded by The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund, a Baltimore foundation with an arts-focused philanthropy. We also incorporated a "People's Choice" voting system, encouraging visitors to the site to not only find artists whose work they enjoy, but to vote for those artists to win smaller grants being awarded by the Fund.

This Website represents a growing number of community- and socially-minded interative projects for which Fastspot has been gaining national attention. Fastspot works collaboratively with clients to identify effective and innovative ways to tap into social media, emerging forms of interaction and community involvement, while keeping a top priority on usability and branding.

The Webby Awards is the Internet's most respected symbol of success. The 13th Annual Webby Awards received over 9,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide.

The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities.

Winners are chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization whose members include David Bowie, Harvey Weinstein, Arianna Huffington, Matt Groening, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Virgin Group Chairman Richard Branson, and R/GA Chairman and CEO Bob Greenberg.
