Fastspot Launches Baltimore Fishbowl Website
Fastspot is proud to announce the launch of Baltimore Fishbowl, an online lifestyle publication.
With the tagline “Your world. Beneath the surface.,” Baltimore Fishbowl combines a commentary and editorial approach into a publication targeted at residents of Fells Point, Federal Hill, North Baltimore City, and Baltimore County. It covers content areas that affect this demographic, including schools, business, culture, residential real estate, family, love, and general news items of local interest. The site includes both fun bits of juicy content and stories about significant, weighty issues; it features original writing, video, and photography, as well as aggregated stories from such local media outlets as the Baltimore Sun and the Baltimore Business Journal.
Fastspot created a Website that draws in readers with a modern, bright design and easy-to-navigate information architecture. Readers are invited to join the conversation by posting comments, participating in reader polls, and contributing user-generated content, as well as sharing stories on social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.
Baltimore Fishbowl is powered by Fastspot's content management solution, BigTree, which allows the Website’s staff to easily update content and messaging while maintaining design consistency and site functionality. This marks the first time BigTree has been customized as a platform for blog-based content with advertising; a Google Analytics-based ad tracking system was integrated to allow editors to monitor ad revenue.
In just four weeks of activity, Baltimore Fishbowl had nearly 20,000 page views and was seeing steady traffic from new and returning visitors who were already hooked on its content.
