Fastspot was asked to create a virtual tour that was truly unique and stood out from the typical and often generic-looking virtual campus tour. Fastspot was also tasked with conveying Bucknell's focus on academics, diversity and individuality. Conceptually, we wanted to ask the user to start to identify themselves as they took the tour, reinforcing the idea that Bucknell is made up of a very diverse and thoughtful grouping of individuals, and is seeking that kind of diversity in its prospective students.
Fastspot created the tour using Flash and a custom content managment solution to power the images, content and video, allowing for endless updates and edits by the Bucknell team.
After being live for almost a year, Bucknell is reporting lots of visitors, about 300 daily on average, much higher during peak admissions months. A time stamp on the callout for the tour lets visitors know when the last tour was taken, and encourages them to view previous visitors' saved sentences.
