Chrysler Museum of Art : Website/CMS

Website/CMS / Cultural

The Chrysler Museum of Art asked Fastspot to create a new Website as part of the museum's rebranding effort. Chrysler, located in Norfolk, Virginia, was founded in 1932 as the Norfolk Academy of Arts and Sciences. It was renamed forty years ago to honor Walter Chrysler Jr., the son of the founder of the eponymous automobile company. Today, Chrysler boasts a collection of 30,000 pieces in sixty-two galleries, as well as two historic houses.

The new site sustains the museum’s history and tradition while supporting fresh, inventive new content and programming. Through a thoughtful information architecture and engaging user-centered design, the new site provides an intuitive and exploratory experience that showcases Chrysler’s collections and builds on the experience of visiting the museum. It also highlights the constantly changing nature of the institution’s collections, events, and exhibits, encouraging the public to physically visit the museum.

The Website is powered by Fastspot's content management solution, BigTree, which enables Chrysler’s staff to easily update content while retaining design consistency and site functionality. Fastspot also created a mobile version of the site that allows on-the-go visitors to quickly and easily view the museum’s  location, hours, contact information, and upcoming events.
