Born and raised in Baltimore, he grew up thinking he would be a concert pianist. And then a musical therapist. And then a microbiologist. And then finally decided to take a design class at the local community college where he found home. Graduating with a graphic design degree from Towson University while working as a front end developer put him in a perfect intersection of people, technology, and design. In the past 5 years, he's worked on a broad range of clients and projects with an intense focus on making his projects usable, useful, clear, and durable.

Lucas spends an exorbitant amount of time researching, writing, or shouting about all things UX. More recently, he's been helping lead the UX community for both Baltimore and the User Experience Design Slack while mentoring design students.
