I have lots of apps on my iPhone, more than I know what to do with actually. In all reality I probably have an app problem but I am in denial.

Of all my apps I love and covet, my favorite are apps for the camera. My previous favorite had been Toy Camera, which has a few settings that generate beautiful images.

However, my newest love is Hipstamatic, and not just for the fabulous images it creates. The entire app experience is superbly designed, and extremely pleasurable to use. The in-app purchase opportunities are handled in such a way that I savor them as future .99 goodies I will treat myself to once I have tired of the pre-loaded lenses, filters and other effects.

The fact that this app is based on a real camera that gained fame in 1982 caters to my art school mentality. I especially love the various edges and borders this app creates for your images, I just want to print them out really large and frame them up!

As an update I am including two more pics (below), one taken by my dear friend Shane Reeder (http://www.shanereeder.com/) and a self portrait by designer Chuck Moran. They both are now fully converted fans of Hipstamatic. Don't fight it, just love it.
