What an amazing community we have here in Baltimore. This city has the perfect mix of smarts, ingenuity, grit and creativity to give birth to some amazing ideas.
I had a fantastic time kicking off the newly revitalized Refresh Baltimore with the support of Vim Interactive and the fabulous venue at Betamore. What an amazing community we have here in Baltimore. This city has the perfect mix of smarts, ingenuity, grit and creativity to give birth to some amazing ideas. We are seeing great things come out of our tech community every week, and the country is paying attention as well. Baltimore was named the second best city for technology jobs by Forbes in late 2011, beat out only by Seattle. And just this month Forbes once again gave Baltimore high praise, listing it 4th on their list of America's New Tech Hot Spots.
This city is garnering the attention of the country, and is being seen as the great place that it is. Now it's time for those of us who call Baltimore home to bond together and help keep this momentum alive. Do you run a technology or creative company in Baltimore? Ask yourself how you are giving back. Have you recommended the services of a Baltimore partner to a client? Have you written a post praising someone else for their work in Baltimore? Have you hosted an event encouraging the community to get to know each other? Have you participated in an event that might let you connect with people you don't know and learn about companies offering services or products that might benefit your business or your clients' businesses? If not - get busy. This momentum will only be sustained if the people who make up Baltimore recognize it for all it offers and find ways to nurture and grow this amazing community!
For anyone who missed the Refresh event last week, here's a summary and link to the video or you can watch it below. Enjoy and if you are interested in learning more about us or BigTree CMS, don't be shy - get in touch! We are always up for answering questions, bouncing ideas around, and looking for new exciting ways to evolve both as a company and as a part of Baltimore.
