A Website to Reflect the True Castleton University

Castleton University had some classic fundamental issues to tackle in redesigning their website: dated design, confusing navigation, masses of outdated content—all hindered by the absence of a content management system that would allow the university to address the problems with any organization or ease.

We sought to provide Castleton with a solution that would truly represent the warmth, beauty, and innovation so obviously present at Castleton University. The new website employs clear, concise navigation and typography that is pleasurable to read, both choices to promote the friendliness and helpfulness of the place itself. Large areas showcasing photography of the campus and region open the site up to provide a much-needed sense of place. The responsive layout makes the site accessible across all device sizes, ensuring its longevity as the device landscape continues to grow and change; this update truly brings the site into the 21st century, reflecting the university's interest in staying on the cusp of technological innovation.

Working with Fastspot

Refreshing a Brand

In addition to updating the website, Fastspot took on the deceptively complex challenge of bringing a long-standing, familiar, and beloved brand up to date. With much iteration and collaboration, we successfully found the balance between old and new, providing a new mark, updated lockups, and a brand guide to maintain campus-wide consistency.
